America Today

Valentines Day is Saturday. It just is not as fun as it use to be. In elementary school we took nice little valentines to school to pass out with friends and just show how much we loved them. Once you get older if you aren't talking to, dating, or married to someone Valentines Day is just another day. So this year it will be just another day. Oh well I suppose last years Valentines Eve surprise was sweet enough to make up for this year.

On another note...

This weekend was a big eye opening experience for me. The way that the movies are portraying to the american population that it is okay to cheat on your spouse. I watched two movies this weekend. In both of these movies the people were cheating on their spouses. In the first one I watched He's just not that into you. The husband is cheating on his wife and in the end they get divorced but the movie portrays that it is okay and everything works out. In the second movie the husband is once again cheating on the wife but he apologizes and they make up, at the end one of the women admits that she cheated on her husband and he forgave her and they are still married. I don't know about everyone else but I think it is horrible the way that the movies are portraying marriages. A marriage is a  sacred covenant. There should be no cheating or divorce. Well I just felt that I had to rant and rave a little about this because it truly bothered me.

Life's Lessons

Today I am thankful for some of life's lessons.

Last night while preparing for my speech for class I realized that I like to live, laugh, love. With this I chose to bring my Bible for LIVE my life in Christ, my camera to capture the LAUGHing moments, and pictures of my friends and family to show that I LOVE with all my heart and more. I also shared a verse that I like a lot with my classmates it is Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." This verse is very important to me and in my life. Which brings me to my next point it seems like Nathan is in my brain at times. He always tells me what I need to hear no matter what, even if I have not said anything to him about it.

In my latest letter from Nathan he told me to read the poem "Footprints in the Sand" and to remember I am not alone. This was very meaningful with everything that is going on with my friends and family.

While listening to the speeches in class today I was touched one of the students when she was born her parents were told that she would not live but obviously she did and she is very thankful because of this. There was another girl who contracted meningitis and almost died at 12, she did lose a leg but she is still alive. Another girl who spoke today told of her cousin who she was very close with who passed away at the age of 23. With this being said I think that we should be thankful for the opportunity we have to live our life.

Fortune

After church this morning Blake, Elizabeth, Sarah and I went to eat at the new chinese buffet in Titusville on US1. It was actually very yummy but let me get to my point. My fortune read "You display the wonderful traits of charm and courtesy". I was not very satisfied with my fortune. I always want on that says something that truly affects me so guess what I asked for another cookie and the woman gave me two more needless to say one said "The lucky answers to your SAT are. ....." and the other one said once again can you believe this "You display the wonderful traits of charm and courtesy". How do you get two of the same fortune? LOL Well anyways, I don't believe them anyways. We went and watched the Odd Couple at Emma Parrish Theatre last night, it was okay. We watched the movie "Fireproof" tonight it was totally awesome. I really really enjoyed it. Well, I am so busy with school and work and everything now. I am working so hard to become closer to God and I am very upset that I have been pulled away from feeling the Spirit like I once was. I really don't know what to believe but I am looking to the Heavenly Father for an answer. So now I am going to go to bed but I am sure that I will have more random thoughts later this week.

Crazy Day

I guess I just can't make up my mind. I feel really bad to all those that I love dearly. I really still love you all and I am sorry that I am not going to join the church. I would love to still be friends and stuff and I really hope this doesn't affect our friendship. After truly doing some research I found what I have believed all along to be right. I do truly love you all and thank you so much for being so kind and welcoming. Maybe this just is not the right time.

Randomness

So I set my baptism time. It is going to be at 6:00 on February 7th. I am very happy about it and very sure that I am doing the right thing. A few of my best friends aren't very happy with it, that is very hard. I am having a hard time with trying to explain myself to them so I am not going to. They can either come or not and they can either accept the fact or not. I understand it is going to be a huge change in my life ... but its not going to be in their life so what is the problem? They accepted everyone else that they know that is a member of the LDS church. What is the difference? There really isn't an answer to that ... well at least for me.

Other than that I love all the new friends I am making and I am very thankful for them all. I am very happy lately especially taking into account everything that is going on and I truly believe it is because of the Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit. :)

Okay so I am actually going to work now since that is where I am at... well since there is nothing to do I am going to work on homework.
